Chris Dover

Chris grew up on the north coast in the township of Ballina. Listening to his local station 2LM, he realised that a love of radio was forming in his blood, so he joined the community station in Lismore, before studying and graduating from the Australian Film, Television & Radio School’s radio course. He landed his first professional radio gig at 2LT Lithgow in 1990.

It was the end of 1992 that he first made the trek out to Bourke to work as 2WEB’s breakfast announcer. Six months later he made his way up the Queensland coast to work at 4CC Gladstone and 4MK Mackay where he was also music director. In 1995, he was employed by ARNSAT in Sydney working a networked Top 40 show called ‘The Rock-Poll’ that was beamed all over Australia.

Chris returned to 2WEB and the back-country in 2019.

When not at work he is busy feeding his hungry cat and playing with his German shepherd dog Tyson. He also does a bit of mountain bike riding, and wishes there were some hills to ride around Bourke!

Catch Chris on Afternoons from 12-4pm weekdays, and on Sunday Breakfast, or get in touch with your sales enquiries!
