The countdown is on to the 2026 Louth Field Day, with organisers promising a packed day of rural displays, local businesses, community groups, fundraising and family entertainment when the event returns to Elsie Eade Park this Saturday, 6 June.
Starting at 10am, the field day has attracted a strong line-up of exhibitors from across western New South Wales, highlighting everything from agriculture and livestock to local produce, arts, crafts and rural services.
Visitors will be able to browse displays from Nutrien Ag Bourke, Farmbot, Bourke Steel and Hire, Betta Electrical, Lachlan Davis Rural Contracting, Tuhorse Solar Pumps, Bourke Arts Community Incorporated and a range of local artisans, producers and community organisations.
Livestock will also feature prominently, with Jan-a-Ree Sheepmaster Stud bringing two rams for auction and sheep on display, while Stanford Poll Herefords will exhibit four bulls. Poultry displays and sales will be offered by Central West Poultry and Bruce Hopley Free Range Poultry.
One of the highlights of the day will be the Cobar Fergies Road to Recovery Tractor Run, supporting Glenn Spinks. The tractor run will travel from Cobar to Louth as part of a three-day journey aimed at raising awareness and support for Glenn and his family.
Families are expected to enjoy a variety of attractions throughout the day, including market stalls, gifts, local produce, arts and crafts, livestock displays and activities for children. The Bourke Children’s Mobile Service will also be in attendance.
Food and refreshments will be available on-site, with a barbecue, tea, coffee and cake operating from the tennis shed throughout the day.
Auction to Support the Royal Flying Doctor Service
A major feature of this year’s event will be the afternoon charity auction, with all proceeds going to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Organisers have already secured an impressive list of donated items, including:
- Signed Brisbane Heat cricket shirt featuring signatures from Brendon McCullum and Glenn Maxwell.
- Signed Penrith Panthers jersey.
- Signed Sydney Roosters jersey.
- G-Shock GSTB400E blackout watch.
- Two Jan-a-Ree Sheepmaster rams.
- Numerous additional donated items from local businesses and supporters.
Adding to the auction excitement is a Farmbot Lite remote monitoring unit, donated by Farmbot. The system allows producers to remotely monitor water points and receive real-time alerts, making it a valuable tool for remote property management.
Organisers say additional donations are still being accepted and anyone wishing to contribute an auction item or secure a stall site is encouraged to get in touch.
With strong community support, a growing exhibitor list and fundraising efforts benefiting the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Louth Field Day is shaping up as one of the district’s major community events of the year.
The Louth Field Day will be held at Elsie Eade Park from 10am on Saturday, 6 June. Entry is by gold coin donation, with collection containers located throughout the grounds.
