The Warren Jockey Club is preparing to welcome locals and visitors alike for one of the region’s most popular country race meetings — the Golden Fleece Race Meeting on Saturday March 21.
Promising a full day of autumn racing, family fun and country hospitality, the event will feature a six-race TAB program along with plenty of activities for racegoers of all ages.
Warren Jockey Club President Paul Smith says the club is excited to see the community come together for the much-loved race day.
“Being a Saturday meeting, entry is free to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy a day at the races,” Mr Smith said.
“It will be a fun day with speciality food trucks, a jumping castle for the kids and a six-race TAB program.”
Often referred to as the “Randwick of the West”, the Warren Racecourse offers excellent facilities for racegoers. The grandstand includes a comfortable air-conditioned club room, while the expansive lawns are perfect for spreading out a picnic rug and enjoying a relaxed day with family and friends.
For those involved in racing, the day will also include hospitality for connections, with catering in the Winners’ and Trainers’ Room provided by Bakes by Rach. Winning horses will also receive a quality Warren Jockey Club horse rug.
Mr Smith says country race meetings are about more than just the racing.
“Country racing is a real community event. It’s a chance to catch up with mates and check in — R U OK? Especially when times are tough.”
Groups planning a day at the track can also take advantage of a bus subsidy of up to $500 for social clubs, making it easier to bring a crowd along for the day.
The Golden Fleece Race Meeting takes place Saturday March 21 at the Warren Racecourse, with free entry for everyone.
