Young people in Brewarrina will have the chance to build practical skills and explore a future in the hair industry during a free Barber and Hairdressing Workshop these school holidays.

The three-day workshop will be delivered by the Community Hair Project and is fully funded by Council, giving participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive learning environment.

Running on April 7, 8 and 9 at the Brewarrina Visitor Information Centre, the program is designed to introduce young people to the basics of barbering and hairdressing while helping them develop real-world skills and confidence.

As part of the workshop, every participant will receive a free starter kit, including scissors or clippers, comb, clips, a cape and water spray.

With limited places available, early bookings are encouraged.

Anyone wanting to secure a spot can email communityhairproject@gmail.com for more information or to register.
