Families across the region will have the chance to explore boarding school options in one place when the Dubbo Boarding Schools Expo returns on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 May 2026.
Held at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre, 155 Darling Street, the free two-day event brings together leading boarding schools from Sydney, regional NSW, the ACT and Queensland, along with organisations supporting rural families.
Designed with regional and remote communities in mind, the expo offers a practical opportunity to compare schools, ask questions and better understand what’s available when it comes to boarding education.
Whether boarding school is already part of your story or something you’re just beginning to consider, the event focuses on helping families make informed decisions based on what suits their child.
Attendees can speak directly with school representatives about academic programs, boarding life, scholarships and bursaries, as well as the support available for students from regional areas.
There’s also a strong community feel, with families encouraged to connect, share experiences and gain confidence in their next steps.
As part of the experience, visitors can take part in the “School of the Expo” initiative — voting for standout schools and going into the draw to win a $10,000 prize.
Event times are Friday from 12:30pm to 6:00pm, and Saturday from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
Entry is free, and families are encouraged to pre-register online to save time on the day.
Pre-registration also helps streamline entry and ensures a smoother experience on arrival, with organisers noting the event is tailored specifically for families — not agents or third-party representatives.
The Dubbo Boarding Schools Expo runs May 15 and 16 — offering a simple way for families to explore what’s possible and find the right fit for their child’s future.
