A new-look Creative Country website is making it easier than ever to discover the artists, makers, galleries, studios and cultural experiences found across Outback New South Wales.
Presented by Outback Arts, Creative Country features an interactive regional map and growing artist directory designed to connect visitors and local communities with creative people, places and experiences throughout Bourke, Brewarrina, Bogan, Cobar, Coonamble, Walgett and Warren.
The website showcases galleries, museums, public art, festivals, workshops, studios, heritage collections, Aboriginal cultural experiences and creative businesses across the region.
Creative Country celebrates the important role arts and culture play in strengthening regional communities. Creative activity helps connect people across geographic, social and cultural boundaries while contributing to education, health, wellbeing, identity, community inclusion and the regional economy.
The region’s vast landscapes, iconic river systems and rich cultural heritage provide the setting for a diverse range of contemporary arts and authentic cultural experiences. Through local storytelling, public art, exhibitions, events and workshops, Creative Country highlights the distinctive character and creative spirit of Outback NSW.
The platform also aims to support cultural tourism by helping visitors plan creative journeys, discover local artists and explore experiences they may not otherwise find.
Artists, makers, creative businesses, galleries, museums, festivals, community groups and tourism operators are encouraged to join the growing directory.
