The Walgett Rugby Club is inviting the community to celebrate the start of the 2026 season in style with its special launch event, “The First Whistle” Long Lunch, later this month.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 28, from 1pm to 7pm at The Tin Shed, bringing together supporters, players and the wider community for an afternoon of great food, entertainment and rugby spirit.
Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion with a Monochrome Cocktail dress code, keeping it sharp and stylish in black and white.
The long lunch will feature live entertainment, a Calcutta, smoked meats and salads, along with beverages and plenty of chances to catch up with friends while celebrating the season ahead.
A highlight of the afternoon will be special guest speaker Arabella McKenzie, a local sporting success story who has represented the NSW Waratahs and the Wallaroos, and currently plays in the NRLW with the St George Dragons.
The event promises to be a fantastic way to bring the rugby community together ahead of the new season.
