The Louth Fishing Club is gearing up for a big weekend on the Darling River, with its annual Weekend Fishing Competition set for Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22, 2026.
Anglers from across the region are invited to head to Louth for two days of fishing, friendly competition and classic outback hospitality. The event will feature a wide range of categories, including Senior Longest Cod, Senior and Junior Longest Carp, Senior and Junior Longest Yellow Belly, Mystery Length Yellow Belly, Senior Longest Five Carp and Junior Longest Yabby, giving competitors of all ages a chance to land a prize.
Entry is $15 for adults and $5 for juniors. Registrations will be taken at Shindy’s Inn from 4pm on Friday, March 20, closing at 10am on Saturday morning.
There will be a lucky door prize and a range of great competition prizes up for grabs, with presentations to be held at Shindy’s Inn between 9am and 11am on Sunday.
The Louth Fishing Club encourages catch and release of both cod and yellow belly. All children must be accompanied by at least one registered adult.
With good fishing, great company and the iconic Darling River as the backdrop, the Louth Weekend Fishing Competition promises another memorable weekend in the west.
