After a 27 year absence, accomplished radio announcer Chris Dover is back behind the microphone at Outback Radio 2WEB.
Chris first graced the outback airwaves at the tender age of 22, way back in 1992.
At that time Chris spent about 12 months as 2WEB’s breakfast announcer, before leaving to take up the job of Music Director of 4MK, McKay, Queensland.
Since then Chris has worked at various radio stations, including 4CC Gladstone, 2LT Lithgow and as the presenter of Australian Radio Network’s top 40 program “Rock Poll”.
He also spent 4 years in the NSW Police Service and another 17 years as an officer with the Australian Federal Police Protective Service.
Chris says it great to be back in the saddle at 2WEB, and great to be back in Bourke.
“I’ve always had great memories of the short time I spent in Bourke in the ‘90’s,” Chris said, “it’s a place where people are very friendly and down-to-earth”.
“I’m looking forward to getting my teeth into radio broadcasting again, and I also look forward to making lots of friends, like I did when I was here many years back.
“2WEB is such a great place to work because it is a professionally-run community radio service and well-liked in the outback community.
“I’m also glad to be in a small country town, far away from the rat race of the city again,” Chris said.
